Magmatech Ltd

London

MagmaTech develops thermally insulating fixings designed to remove thermal bridging from insulated buildings. This includes low conductivity basalt fibre wall ties for use in masonry cavity walls; “TeploTie TM”. The ties were used in the breakthrough Denby Dale Passsivhaus project and many other low energy projects across the UK. Fixings have also been used in Passivhaus retrofit / refurb projects. Thermally broken connections between most construction materials are possible. MagmaTech welcomes the opportunity to solve your thermal bridging problems.

mh Architects

Chichester

MH Architects was formed as Miller Hughes Associates in 1986, rebranding as mh Architects in 2008. We are based in Chichester and work across the south of England. We strive to make architecture that can inspire both inside and out, marrying attractive appearance with straightforward functionality to give our clients buildings that will be enjoyed for years to come. We believe that good design is about achieving the objectives of our clients in the most elegant way possible, using the optimum resources available, in the most economical way. In our view sustainability should be truly integrated in all buildings from conception and the challenge for us is to fuse this with design that genuinely responds to its context and occupants.

Mike Whitfield Construction Ltd

Hereford

Mike Whitfield Construction Ltd is based in South Herefordshire. Mike first worked on a carefully designed energy efficient building in 1996, and since then has been on a steadily improving journey. In 2005 we were main contractors on the conversion of 2 barns into offices for the sustainable architects Architype, a project which won the 2007 RIBA Sustainability Award. By the time PH became known in the UK, we were already using many of the principles, and in 2010 when we started our first project that had been designed using PHPP, it was a natural progression for us. Since then we have worked almost exclusively on retrofits, extensions and new builds to PH principles. Mike has spoken on construction methods and detailing at AECB and UK Passivhaus conferences.
