Encouraging local authorities to adopt Passivhaus

Last month, the Trust held an event to develop relationships with leading local authorities and housing associations who have adopted, or are considering adopting the Passivhaus standard.

Attendees battled some gruelling weather conditions (a lot of thunder & flooding!) to share their thoughts on what hurdles they were experiencing in adopting Passivhaus on their schemes.

The event was open only to members of local authorities and housing associations, and featured talks from:

  • John Lefever, Hastoe Housing Association
  • Emma Osmundsen, Exeter City Council
  • Benedict Binns, Hamson Barron Smith
  • Andrew Cooper, The Green Party

The Passivhaus Trust will take the findings from this event and develop them into plans for a campaign to encourage local authorities to adopt Passivhaus on their projects.
