The Certified Passivhaus Designer Course (Coaction) is aimed principally at construction professionals in the UK involved in the design of all types of Passivhaus buildings. It teaches the core concepts behind the Passivhaus standard, considerations and methodologies for implementation, and the use of the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) for achieving low-energy performance. The programme is designed to prepare delegates not only for the exam but for future involvement in Passivhaus and low-energy building projects.
Who should attend?
The course is aimed principally at construction professionals in the UK involved in the design of all types of Passivhaus buildings. It teaches the core concepts behind the Passivhaus standard, considerations and methodologies for implementation and the use of the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) for achieving low energy performance.
All delegates should have knowledge of UK construction systems, as well as a general understanding of maths and Microsoft Excel and building plans.

Format
Teaching is through live webinars, with some self-learning and homework components to be completed during mornings or evenings.
- Teaching starts at 13:00. Most sessions are 4 hours long, unless otherwise stated.
- Every live session is run by two experienced Passivhaus trainers. All trainers are currently working in the Passivhaus sector, bringing their experience of tackling real issues Passivhaus projects may encounter.
- There will be live case studies of real projects during the course and opportunities to discuss your own projects with the group.
- To check your understanding throughout, there are several homework exercises you will need to complete during the modules. Trainers will respond to your homework and answer your questions via a dedicated MS Teams channel.
- Three tutorials during the course give you an opportunity to ask questions to the trainers.
- The Coaction Operations team will be available every working day for admin and technical support.

You will need a copy of the PHPP software for the PHPP module and exam. The PHPP 10 software costs from £140.00 ex. VAT and can be purchased directly from the AECB website.
