This course has been endorsed by the Passivhaus Trust at intermediate level training. If you have some prior understanding of Passivhaus or have completed the Passivhaus Designer or Passivhaus Tradesperson training, and want to learn how to apply that learning to site, this course is for you!
Bringing together designers and contractors and led by experienced practitioners, this practical session run in partnership between Coaction Training CIC (formerly Carbonlite/WARM Passivhaus Training) and BE-ST builds on the theory covered in those courses and allows participants to explore the realities of delivery.

Programme
This is an all-day (09:30-16:30) hands-on event delivered at BE-ST’s ground-breaking A Lab on their purpose built campus in Hamilton. The topics covered are:
- Designing for construction: what’s really needed to get it right and what are the consequences of not doing it well
- How to assess the risks in a design.
- What can go wrong, how to avoid it, and remedial work; learn from our experience and mistakes
- What good looks like: airtightness, insulation and more.
- What it takes to achieve airtightness.
- Impact of sequencing and material choices on build quality.
