This low energy building design course covers the core concepts behind the Passivhaus standard, considerations and methodologies for implementation and using the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP10) for achieving low energy performance.

There are six modules for a total of 60 hours are aimed at all building professionals, including architects, engineers, sustainability consultants, contractors and builders.

You need to have some basic knowledge of building physics and be able to use Microsoft® Excel.

There are six modules, beginning with an online introduction and five days in-person in Manchester.

18 September 2024: PHPP Construction systems and quality assurance
19 September 2024: PHPP Mechanical services
20 September 2024: Retrofit and basics of economics
Exam date TBA: Optional Certified Passivhaus Designer exam
