Understand the delivery of deep fabric retrofits and what is needed to ensure projects are a success on site. Unforeseen changes are much more common in retrofit so require a different mindset: your team need to be able to problem solve and know who to contact for help. Delivered by PHT PREFERRED TRAINING PARTNER, Coaction, this Passivhaus Retrofit Course will lead you through the various topics, show you typical problem areas for retrofit and best practice solutions, applicable to all building types and projects.

This is the first retrofit programme in the UK that is principally designed for contractors. The advanced level course builds on technical knowledge gained from the Passivhaus Tradesperson course, however, Coaction also welcome interested graduates from their Certified Passivhaus Designer and Bitesize courses.

Topics covered include:

Understand what the EnerPHit and other retrofit standards entail.
Explore the critical aspects including insulation, moisture, airtightness, thermal bridging, ventilation, heat pumps and overheating.
How to ensure quality is delivered on site.
How to reduce the risk of unforeseen changes.
How to manage unforeseen changes on site.
Coaction's experienced trainers will lead you through the various topics, show you typical problem areas for retrofit and best practice solutions.

Who should attend?

Unlike most retrofit courses this course is aimed specifically at contractors, but provides useful learning for those involved with design too – after all, greater cross over between design and construction is essential for successful projects.

Programme

The course is structured into a series of 3 modules to direct your learning through the essential aspects of Passivhaus:

2 July	Session 1	Introduction to retrofit, whole building approaches, insulation and thermal bridging. One hour homework.
5 July	Session 2	Airtightness and windtightness, moisture and building services. One hour homework.
9 July	Session 3	Review homework and then move on-site with the case study.

Format

Teaching is through live webinars and starts at 9am. Sessions are 4 hours long, unless otherwise stated.
There is a small amount of homework to complete between each session (approximately 1 hour) to consolidate your learning.
This course is led by experts in retrofit world, all of whom have successfully delivered EnerPHit and other deep retrofit projects.
Coaction's operations team are available every working day for technical and administrative support.
