Location: Bidwells, Bidwell House, Trumpington Road, Cambridge, CB2 9LD | Cost: Free to Eligible SMEs |
This seminar organised by Adapt CBE focuses on the background and use of building information modelling (BIM) for the design and delivery of Passivhaus and low carbon buildings.
Keith Snook from the Building Research Establishment (BRE) will provide an introduction to the background and development of BIM within the industry as well as how BRE are looking to its use within BREEAM and for product/materials data.
Presenters will also include Morgan Syndall and Architype who are who are leading the delivery and design of the Exemplar Low Carbon Building which is targeting BREEAM Excellent and Passivhaus certification.
Elrond Burrell, Associate and BIM leader of Architype will provide an Architect's perspective, looking at the journey from Architype’s first "Level 1 BIM" project commenced in 2006 through to current "Level 2 BIM" projects. Elrond will also share Architype's unique approach to maximising the benefits from BIM when designing to the Passivhaus standard and demonstrate some of the methods developed and utilised.
Morgan Sindall will be presenting on how they use BIM throughout the delivery of a project, using the Exemplar Low Carbon Building as a case study.
