Become an accredited Passivhaus Certifier for Buildings
Building certification is an essential part of the quality assurance process. To address the growing amount of requests for certifications, the Passive House Institute has developed a concept to train Passivhaus Certifiers for Buildings. Building Certifiers are accredited by the Passive House Institute to certify Passivhaus buildings, EnerPHit retrofits and Low Energy Buildings anywhere in the world on behalf of the Passive House Institute and in accordance with the building certification criteria.
Minimum requirements to be considered for the accrediation
- In-depth Passivhaus experience: Participation in at least three certified Passivhaus/EnerPHit projects. The candidate's involvement in the projects must be clearly evident. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on at least one non-residential project.
- PHPP knowledge, as this tool is used to assess the energy performance of the building. The PHPP expert seal is the preferred way to demonstrate this.
- Successfully passed Passivhaus Designer/Consultant exam with valid certificate.
- Fluency in English or German: Training and most discussions with certifiers take place in English, and most Passive House Institute resources are published in German and/or English. Therefore, fluency in one of these languages is also required.
Please note that these are the minimum requirements to be considered for accreditation. The Passive House Institute reserves the right to accept or reject applications if it is in the interest of the development of the Standard in a particular region or country.
Application
Candidates must then send their CV to glenn.yacoub@passiv.de. The CV must clearly state the fulfillment of the minimum requirements.
