Understand how to plan, manage and deliver Passivhaus and other high-performance buildings with confidence. Delivered by PHT Patron Coaction Training CIC, Passivhaus for Contractors builds on the principles introduced in Building to Perform: Introduction and develops them through detailed, practical application.

This course supports construction teams to reduce risk, avoid common on-site mistakes and deliver buildings that perform as designed. It is suitable for Passivhaus projects and other low-energy or Net Zero standards.

Who should attend?

This training is aimed primarily at contractors, site managers, supervisors and quality managers, with useful learning for self-builders, design managers and decision-makers involved in delivery.

Learning outcomes & topics covered

By the end of the course, participants will understand how to plan, manage and deliver high-performance buildings that meet Passivhaus and other energy performance standards, with a clear focus on quality and risk reduction on site.

The course covers:

Performance-led construction and core Passivhaus principles, including what “good looks like” on site
How to plan, cost and sequence high-performance construction with confidence
Insulation strategies, airtightness and thermal bridging in practice
Window installation, detailing and sequencing for reliable outcomes
Integrating building services with the fabric to achieve consistent performance
Identifying common on-site risks and applying practical mitigation strategies to achieve success

Programme

The programme includes Building to Perform: Introduction as the first session, followed by three further live online modules that deepen understanding and focus on delivery, sequencing and quality on site. This course provides a clear route to the Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson exam, which can be added as an optional extra for those seeking internationally recognised certification.
