Coventry ECO House Workshop and Site Tour

The Coventry ECO House project is now onsite and construction of two detached houses has started. These homes will be certified to the Passivhaus standard and also through the Code for Sustainable Homes at Levels 4 & 6. The homes will be available for social rent and operated by Orbit Heart of England Housing Association.
You are invited to visit the project and learn firsthand from the experiences of the design and build teams as work progresses onsite in Canley, Coventry.
This half day workshop (including site visits) has been scheduled at critical stages in the build programme to allow visitors on site to witness firsthand this demonstration of an innovative build system. Members of the team will convey key learning points from the design process in an interactive learning environment.

The Presenters
The workshop will be led by a team comprising:

Dhiran Vagdia, lead architect for the design phase of the Coventry ECO House project and an active member of the FORCE Steering Group

Helen Brown, Head of Building Physics at Encraft as well as Passivhaus Consultant and Code Assessor for the Coventry ECO House project

Ron Beattie, Managing and Technical Director at Beattie Passive and main contractor for the Coventry ECO House project

Alan Leary, Director of Tetra Group and Client’s Representative and Quantity Surveyor for the Coventry ECO House project

Brian Dickinson, an active member of the FORCE Steering Group will act as chair on the day.
Other members of the design and build teams, including representatives from Orbit Heart of England Housing Association and site workers will also be on hand to help to deliver the learning objectives.

The Coventry ECO House project is a collaborative, learning legacy project that aims to develop and demonstrate the local capability for the design, build and operation of sustainable homes.
