Green Building Store - Product training event

Green Building Store are offering an intensive hands-on product training day on Wednesday 11th June 2014  for specifiers and building professionals looking at three key product areas of vital importance for Passivhaus & low energy projects. Areas covered include:

High performance windows & doors: 9.30-11am

Presented by Green Building Store Director Chris Herring, one of the UK's leading experts in high performance fenestration. Covering:

  • High performance glazing
  • U values & G values
  • Frame materials
  • Passivhaus requirements
  • Optimum positioning of windows to minimise thermal bridging
  • Specification - overview of Green Building Store window & door products

Coffee break 11 - 11.30am

Airtightness & moisture management: 11.30am - 1pm

Presenter TBC. Covering:

  • Basic description of airtightness and why it is so important
  • Consequences of a lack of airtightness and common failure areas
  • Moisture management and Intelligent membranes
  • Some INTELLIGENT solutions for achieving airtightness including onsite details
  • Airtightness standards both Internationally and in the UK

Lunch break: 1-2pm (light snacks/ sandwiches provided by Green Building Store)

MVHR for Passivhaus projects: 2-4pm

Presented by Andrew Farr, Green Building Store's MVHR Technical Manager. Covering:

  • Basic description of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery systems
  • Optimum design & layout for MVHR systems
  • Avoiding common MVHR installation pitfalls
  • Specification - overview of Green Building Store MVHR products
