About the course
This course is delivered in a half-day workshop session at venues across Wales. The course is designed and delivered by the partnership of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales and the Welsh School of Architecture and is one of six Sustainable Architecture Courses. Study of 2 of these subjects contributes to achievement of this module at CQFW Level 5: 2 Credits. Speakers include Angela Ruiz del Portal Sanz of the Welsh School of Architecture

- This course covers the RIBA Core Curriculum subject no 2: Climate, sustainable architecture
- The seminar will explore the core focus of the ‘Passivhaus standard’ - which is ‘to dramatically reduce the requirement for space heating and cooling, while also creating excellent indoor air quality and comfort levels’
- Delegates will gain an understanding of the detailing aspects of Passivhaus design: glazing and shading, airtightness, orientation and ventilation.
