The International Passivhaus Conference

Join a gathering of over 1000 thought leaders and innovators from around the world for the 23rd International Passivhaus Conference, the year's premium Passivhaus event. For the first time this international event is taking us outside of Europe, across the globe to China, to the city of Gaobeidian!

Gaobeidian, in the Heibei province around 100 kilometres south of Beijing, is currently under the Passivhaus spotlight. The Government of the province is making great efforts to promote the Passivhaus Standard, an intiative that involves the construction of a Passivhaus settlement in Gaobeidian which, after completion, will be the largest energy efficient settlement in the world, boasting about one million square metres of living space.

Programme

The programme has now been finalised and can be viewed online. The two days of the conference will be packed with inspiring presentations, running alongside an exhibition and networking opportunities, allowing you to share your experience with other professionals and learn more about the latest developments in Passivhaus. 

These will be followed by a day of excursions with a choice of three projects to visit, and a weekend of advanced workshops including sessions on the new PHI tools districtPH and BIM2PH.

Travel and accommodation

To support you in arranging your journey, the International Passive House Association has arranged two free webinars offering information about visa arrangements, travel and accommodation options, registration procedure and answers to any questions you may have.  These will take place on 25 July 2019, at 08:30 (CET) and 17:00 (CET). A group from Europe will travel to the conference by train, taking approximately 18 days on the rails. The aim is to de­mon­strate how one might travel in a more en­vir­on­ment­ally-friendly way, by choos­ing to slow down and travel by train.
