The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) and TUDublin are collaborating to offer a professional level academic online CPD course focusing on Building Energy Modelling using PHPP.
This CPD course will enable you to gain knowledge from highly experienced technical professionals, where you will learn:

Appraise the Passivhaus Standard and PHPP as an energy analysis tool.

Critically apply the PHPP tool in the energy analysis of the geometry and fabric of a conventional Irish building with typical forms and construction.

Critically apply the PHPP tool in the selection of building services and plant for the provision of heating, cooling, and hot water in an Irish building of typical construction.

Apply the PHPP design tool at a professional level to optimise the design of a building to Passivhaus Standard.
By completing this course you will have:

Accumulated 100 hours of CPD.

Attained 10 UK Credits/ 5 EU ECTs (Masters level)

Acquired credits towards PHI Certification. (Exact number of points TBC)
Audience
This course is aimed at built environment professionals. We recommend that you have a knowledge of UK construction systems, an ability to read building plans and an understanding of basic algebra. It is also necessary to be proficient in CAD or BIM.
Criteria for application:

Registered Architects/ Architectural Technologists/Building Surveyors or Chartered Engineers.

Other technical design professionals subject to a minimum (Irish) 2.2 Level 8 or (UK) Honours 2.2 level 6 qualification plus 2 years minimum relevant accredited professional experience, or equivalent.

Certified Passivhaus Designers or those who have experience designing Passive Certified House plus 3 years minimum relevant industry experience/accredited professional experience, or equivalent.

Those who have completed the PHT Bitesize PHPP course or the AECB CLR CarbonLite Retrofit course plus 3 years minimum relevant industry experience/accredited professional experience, or equivalent.
Programme
The CPD course runs for 6 weeks on a part-time basis, commencing on Friday 30th April and culminating on 11th June 2021, and includes:

Series of online lectures and interactive webinars.

Self-directed learning during and outside contact hours.

Project-based formative online exercises: Application of Passivhaus energy performance metric to a building case-study.
-
Summative online assessment: application of software tools and standards-based methodologies to achieve a defined performance target.
