Date: 9 June 2021 | Time: 19:30 - 20:30 |
Location: Online | Cost: Free to attend, booking essential |
As part of their series of Climate Challenge Talks, join Hertfordshire Association of Architects, for a free online webinar: 'Retrofitting Offices to Passivhaus Standard'. Led by Alexander Reeve, Sustainable Buildings Advisor at the University of Cambridge’s Estates Division, the talk will showcase the latest developments of the Entopia Building in Cambridge; the first office aiming to achieve EnerPHit certification in the world.
Originally a 1930's telephone exchange, the Entopia Building will serve as the new headquarters for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Designed by PHT Patron Architype, the existing structure located at 1 Regent Street, will undertake a deep green retrofit upgrade over the next 10 months.
With the demand for Passivhaus offices growing in the UK, this talk will delve into how and why aiming for EnerPHit certification will ensure an energy efficient, comfortable and a high quality upgrade to the existing building, thus facilitating a thriving office environment for business, government and academic leadership, for years to come.
