Final Call for Built Environment Students

Southside Hereford: University Design Challenge

Built environment students – are you ready to take on the challenge of building in a climate crisis? Buildings account for almost 40% of global carbon emissions. The design decisions you make today have lasting impacts. Ensure they attribute to climate action solutions rather than rather than exaccerbate the problem.

Southside Hereford University Design Challenge is based on a live project and aims to provide a creative vehicle for ALL students across construction disciplines to improve their climate literacy.

Come together as multi-disciplinary teams and design an 800m2 community centre out of timber to meet Passivhaus Standard for £1.6 million. If you have only just found out about this challenge, do not worry – we have not yet started and are still forming teams. Software will be distributed until March, and the final detailed brief is yet to be released.

The competition registration deadline has been extended until 21st February. What are you waiting for – get involved!
