Funding pots for Passivhaus training
If you're looking for Passivhaus Consultant or Tradespersion training, or other types of Passivhaus training, there could be some funding sources that could help cover up to 70% of your training costs.
Flexible Skills Funding - Net Zero Skills (Wales)
This Welsh Government programme is designed to provide 50% funding support for training to Wales-based businesses to help them address Net Zero challenges.
Eligibility
Applications are invited from businesses in any sector and from any part of Wales. Businesses must be based in Wales, solvent and must commit to release staff to undertake the requested training by the end of March 2026. Each business can make one application to this programme per annum.
Types of training?
Funding is available to support the employees of Wales-based businesses attend training courses that will help them address challenges posed by Net Zero. This can include face-to-face, or online training. There is no requirement to use any particular training company - the applicant may choose any certified training provider – but any supported training on this programme must either be accredited or to a recognised industry standard.
Passivhaus courses
A wide range of Passivhaus training - from beginner to advanced - could potentially be accessed via this funding.
- Passivhaus Trust training, both live and on-demand
- Introductory level Passivhaus Bitesize Low Energy Design
- Intermediate level Certified Passivhaus Training
- Intermediate level Passivhaus in Practice
- Advanced level Passivhaus Masterclass
- Advanced level Retrofit Delivery

CITB funding (UK wide)
Although 100% CITB funding closed in March 2025, if you are a CITB registered business, contractor, or sub-contractor your local CITB Advisor via the new Local Employer Networks scheme can help you access a 70% grant to train, reskill and upskill your workforce in low energy and Net Zero construction practices. Certified Passivhaus Consultant and Tradesperson courses can apply.
PHT Patron and registered CITB training provider, Coaction, offers a range of Passivhaus courses that can access the funding.

- Introductory Level: Passivhaus Bitesize Low Energy Design
- Intermediate Level: Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson
- Intermediate Level: Passivhaus in Practice
- Intermediate Level: Certified Passivhaus Designer *
- Advanced Level: Retrofit Delivery
