Tackling today's biggest building challenges
This year's programme will reflect the issues shaping the built environment today. Following another summer where overheating has dominated industry discussion, the conference will explore how Passivhaus can help create buildings that remain comfortable during periods of extreme heat without relying on excessive cooling. International experts will examine climate resilience across a range of building types, from high-rise residential developments to non-domestic retrofit, supported by monitored evidence of performance in use.
The conference will also explore the growing evidence linking building performance and occupant health. Leading researchers, medical professionals and government advisers will examine indoor air quality through measured data from Passivhaus buildings, including findings on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the influence of construction materials across education, residential and non-domestic projects.
Alongside these themes, delegates will hear practical lessons from organisations delivering Passivhaus retrofit and EnerPHit projects across the UK, sharing insights into scaling retrofit, maintaining quality throughout design and construction, and overcoming procurement and delivery challenges.
