New Passivhaus documentary to premiere at Passive House North 2013
The Canadian Passive House Institute (CanPHI) will host the world premiere of the new documentary film Passive House: A Building Revolution as part of its conference: Passive House North 2013 in Vancouver on September 26.
The film describes a small, rapidly growing Passivhaus movement in Europe and the U.S. aimed towards drastically reducing home energy consumption. Today there are 25,000 such buildings in Europe. The film explains the environmental challenge and opportunity represented by buildings. Passivhaus cost less than conventional buildings based on a lifecycle cost analyses and provide better comfort and air quality. The film also introduces the importance of deep-energy retrofits in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emission from millions of existing homes.
The film has been produced by Faith Morgan and Pat Murphy Arthur Morgan Institute for Community Solutions.
