40 home development in Sandiacre aims for Passivhaus Standard

Work has begun on a new development of 40 affordable Passivhaus homes in Sandiacre in the East Midlands. Developed by emh group, with Encraft acting as Passivhaus Consultants, the new properties at Town Street are designed to meet the Passivhaus standard, aim to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes level four and Lifetime Homes.

Funded by the Homes & Communities Agency and Erewash Borough Council, it is part of a wider regeneration programme from affordable housing provider emh group, with neighbouring Hart Lea already benefiting from nine new affordable homes.

Work is due to be completed towards the end of the year, with properties available to locals for rental.
