MACCA Centre achieves certification

This community building to service the garden allotments at Mullaghmore and Castleview Community Association (MACCA) Centre, Omagh is believed to be the first commercial Passivhaus in Northern Ireland.
The Eco-Centre was funded by DsD Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and Omagh District Council.

The walls are constructed with hempcrete, lined with exterior cedar sheeting, and finished with a lime plaster. The project also includes solar panels, photovoltaics and recycled rubber roof tiles.
