2017 Passivhaus Open Days
Passivhaus buildings of all typologies & scales exist in various contexts. Many Passivhaus projects across the globe were open from the 10-12 November 2017, with 26 UK schemes participating in the international event. This is the 14th consecutive International Passivhaus Open Day event held in November by the Passivhaus Institute and its affiliates.
The event had a great social buzz as PHI held a competition to win an overnight night stay in a Passivhaus hotel at Lake Garda or in the Alps by sharing site visit selfies with the following hastags: #iPHopendays & #iPHdays. Winners will be announced soon. Catch up with some of the tweets from the event below. A selection of images can be seen on the Passivhaus trust Flickr account.
Thank you for showing us your marvellous home.
Fabulous, I want one! Very many thanks for a really good tour.
If you are thinking about building your own Passivhaus, keen to learn more on how to do it, or are encouraging clients to aim for the standard, then this is an invaluable event. These tours offer an opportunity to touch, feel and experience the comfortable indoor environments and energy-efficient benefits of building to Passivhaus standard. The Trust would like to thank all those that so generously took the time to open their schemes and give free tours, talks (and refreshments!)
Passivhaus self-build blogs
Many of the schemes are blogging about their progress and Passivhaus journey. A few are linked below.
If you missed the event and cannot wait until the 2018 International Open Days next November, keep an eye on our upcoming OpenHaus & site visit listings for a tour near you. In the meantime, watch our Passivhaus goes Personal video to discover more about the benefits of the standard.
