Passive House Planning Package (PHPP)

Date: 24th & 25th August 2011 Time: 2 Days
Location: Scottish Passive House Centre, Rosyth, Fife Cost: £295 (+VAT) for non-members, 15% discount for PHT members

This 2-day workshop organised by the Scottish Passive House Centre is tailored for architects and consultants who would like to get to know the Passive House Planning Package and for Certified Passive House Designers, who would like to refresh their knowledge or get help with current projects.

The PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) is a software tool used to help designing and certifying Passive Houses. It has proven itself over many years as a reliable and accurate instrument for energy balance calculations and for the implementation of design changes in order to improve these energy balances on domestic and commercial buildings.

Steff Bell will do an introduction and welcome, the overall course will be presented by Ian Theoboldt, who was instrumental for the design and certification of the first three Scottish Passive Houses, the first domestic Passive House in England and is also connected to about 80 further Passive House Projects world-wide.

Day 1:

9:00am Registration, coffee/tea and networking

9:40am Introduction of the SPHC

9:45am Brief introduction to the PHPP and comparison with other tools

10:00am PHPP – U-values, areas, thermal bridging

11:15am Short break

11:30am Ground, windows, window type, shading, summer shading, summer case,summer ventilation

1:00pm Lunch

2:00pm Ventilation, Annual heat demand, Monthly Method

4:15pm Workshop Round-up, Questions and discussion

Day 2:

9:00am Registration, coffee/tea and networking

9.30am PHPP – Heating load, cooling, cooling units, cooling load

11:15am Short break

11:30am DHW & distribution, solar DHW, Electricity, Electricity Non-Dom, Aux.Electricity

1:00pm Lunch

2:00pm PE value, Compact, Boiler, District Heat, Climate Data, IHG, IHG Non-Dom,Use Non-Dom,Data

4:15pm Workshop Round-up, Questions and discussion
