Target Participants
This course is aimed at building contractors working on building envelopes as well as designers and consultants looking to learn the practical skills required of building to the Passive House standard. Please visit www.passivhaushandwerker.net for further details.
Duration
Two days of direct contact classroom and hands-on workshop training, from 8.30am to 5.00pm plus optional 3 days-equivalent distance learning module that participants complete from home or office in their own time and at their own pace. This allows participants to fully prepare for the optional exam at the correct pace for them individually and reduces costs for travel / accommodation as well as lost time from the office or site.
Format
Combination of classroom lectures and presentations (about 50% of course) as well as practical work and experience in the Passive House building. The optional 3-days equivalent on-line material is accompanied by assistance from our staff. The on-line material is fully geared towards assisting the study process to pass the PHI exam. PHA staff will remotely assist and monitor progress of all students through the on-line material and only those that have satisfactorily completed the assessments will be allowed to sit the exam.
Training Materials
High quality colour training manuals are provided at course commencement. Access will also be provided to the optional on-line learning platform, including oodles of interactive test-preparation materials.
Course Accreditation
The CPHCT-BE exam is set by the International Passive House Institute and takes place all round the world on pre-determined dates per year. (Optional exam date - February 20th 2016)
On successfully passing the exam, participants will receive the internationally recognized accreditation as 'Certified Passive House Tradesperson - Building Envelope Specialist', joining a rapidly expanding global community.
Note: Taking the exam is optional but is required to gain the 'Certified Passive House Tradesperson' accreditation. The on-line material must be completed if you decide to sit the exam.
