AECB East Midlands local group have arranged a chance to visit a Passivhaus currently under construction in Derbyshire.
The farmhouse conversion, titled Marsh Flatts Farm, recently featured on the PHT website. David Brooke is the client for the detached home aiming for Passivhaus Plus.
The build has been on site since early October and this visit is timed so that there is plenty to see many of the interesting aspects of the building that will later be hidden, ideal to get under the skin of the build and examine lots of details.
The following items are expected to be complete or in progress for the visit:
- Window and external door installation
- Zinc roof installation
- Polished concrete ground floor slab
- Ecobead cavity wall installation
- First fix on the plumbing, wiring and MVHR should be well underway.
David will be there to lead the tour and his contractor Steve Yardley of Burton Building Solutions will also be in attendance. Steve’s past projects include the EnerPHit project in Derby for local AECB member Kate Ball, which is also opening in May (2016) as part of the Superhome network.
