Summary

Become a certified Passivhaus designer and develop the skills to tackle Passivhaus projects in the UK. This course will be hosted by PYC and run by highly experienced trainers, and accredited by WARM: Low Energy Building Practice.

The Course

Guiding you - Friendly Trainers and small groups encourage a friendly learning experience.
Prepare you for the exam - Dedicated revision day with a practice exam paper, worked example papers to take away.
Sociable - We encourage delegates to support each other and organise meals out for networking.

The Material

UK focused - 100% rewritten - rather than European CEPH material taught by others.
UK examples - From the UK domestic and non-domestic sector.
Up to date - Material that is continually updated and using PHPP.
Exercises - Lots of exercises used to continually affirm and test understanding.

The Trainers

UK experts - Highly experienced trainers, Eric Parks, Bill Butcher, Mark Siddall, Mike Roe and Nick Grant who have sucessfully designed / built Passivhaus Projects in the UK.
Variety of experience - Non domestic building, large residential schemes, and real Passivhaus construction experience.

The Venue

Facilities - Refurbished offices and learing spaces in a Grade II listed barn complex, set in the grounds of Pen y Lan.
Accommodation - On-site catered accommodation option in the newly refurbished farmhouse. Private bedrooms with Wifi access. Large farmhouse kitchen and living room for networking and socialising over delicious home-cooked food.*
Idyllic rural setting - The perfect getaway to focus your energy on the course; with walks to nearby woodlands, riverside and local village pub all within 5 minutes the course venue.

Fundamentals of Passivhaus: 1 Day
Science of Passivhaus: 2 days
Construction of Passivhaus: 1 Day
Thermal Bridging: Introduction to using Therm to model Thermal Bridges ( online )

Week 2: 16th - 20th May

Building Services of Pessivhaus: 2 Days
PHPP: 2 Days
Revision: 1 Days

Exam: Friday 3rd June

Accommodation

Accomodation is available at Pen y Lan Farmhouse priced at £50 per person per night.

This includes breakfast and an evening meal. It is recommended that you arrive on Sunday night for an early Monday morning start.

Cost and booking

The price of the course is £2,000 + VAT. The fee includes lunch, training manuals, PHI exam fee, exam printing and marking fees.
