Passivhaus Trust Patron members Encraft have launched a comprehensive programme of bite-sized training seminars in low carbon construction techniques and technologies for new buildings, many specific to Passivhaus construction.
Designed for building clients, consultants, contractors, architects and project developers, Encraft’s highly accessible suite of practitioner-led training courses are an essential introduction to the practical issues and theory behind low carbon building.

Rigorous, practical understanding
Encraft’s suite of training programmes are designed to give all members of project teams a rigorous, practical understanding of the key issues and techniques needed to deliver successful low carbon building projects. They cover the areas that really matter to delivery of low carbon performance in use: air tightness; building physics and energy modelling; building services for very low carbon buildings; and an overview of renewable energy options.
Checklists are not enough
Low carbon construction projects require greater attention to detail and higher quality standards than traditional building projects. Clients, consultants, contractors, architects and all members of design teams often have to learn entirely new techniques as well as understanding new technologies. Blindly following checklists is not enough.
Practitioner-led
All of the courses are designed and delivered by top class and experienced practitioners, for practitioners. The trainers on our courses are all active in the design, construction and testing of current low carbon building projects. They speak from hands-on practical experience.
Easy-to-digest
The training is structured as a series of half-day, easy to digest modules. You can pick and choose the ones that meet your needs. The approach is small groups with no more than 10 delegates per session, ensuring you get personal attention and can discuss specific issues with your trainer and the group.
