The Good Homes Alliance (GHA) and the UK Indoor Environments Group (UKIEG) are working together to bring you this joint meeting, with the UKIEG annual conference being held in the morning and with the GHA workshop on healthy homes following on in the afternoon.

Higher standards of air tightness associated with the drive towards low carbon homes lead to significant questions about how to ensure good ventilation. However, feedback has suggested that there have been a number of poor installations and common problems with different ventilation approaches, so how do we ensure best practice design, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, all vital components to the success of the system to deliver good indoor air quality to maximise the health and wellbeing of occupants?

The GHA has been researching case studies that have monitored data to prove good indoor air quality to understand if there are any common approaches that help to define best practice. We will present a summary of this work at the event, along with examples of good practice in MVHR and natural ventilation, and experience of different approaches from Europe.
