One of the biggest challenges in achieving a low carbon built environment is improving the performance of existing buildings. Passivhaus principles can be applied to refurbishment as well as new build, and a new Passivhaus refurbishment standard is soon to be available. With the help of case studies, this session looks at how Passivhaus can help with refurbishment in theory and in practice.
