CoRE, the Centre of Reburbishment Excellence, is a national independent centre of learning and skills development for the construction industry working for a low carbon UK.  

CoRE provides an holistic learning platform for the re-skilling of the UK's construction workforce to meet the nation's needs for a low carbon, energy efficient building stock by providing the construction industry with a range of opportunities for research, training and skills development in a changing world.

Extensive new research into how the UK should meet this challenge has been commissioned by CoRE and has been carried out by Room4 Consulting. The report, Fabric First and Refurbishment Excellence: Up-skilling to Deliver The Green Deal and Beyond, will be launched at the Event.

High profile speakers from the world of architecture and sustainable building technology will point the way forward to a low carbon UK: Dr. Andrew Ainsworth from Room4 Consulting will be joined by a number of keynote speakers:

Delegates will be given an insight into how to meet the challenge of positioning their business to win new work arising from the need to refurbish the UK’s housing stock.
 
The retrofit industry is set to become hugely important as the Government consider how to make Britain’s ageing homes fit for future use within a low carbon environment.
