Call for Abstracts for UK Passivhaus Conference 2012

Abstract submissions are now sought from authors wishing to present Passivhaus related projects at the UK Passivhaus Conference 2012 at the East Midlands Conference Centre, University of Nottingham on the 7th and 8th November 2012. A full written article is not required; however, potential presenters are required to submit a short abstract for review and if selected to present they will also be required to submit a two page extended abstract for inclusion in the conference programme document.

The intent of the conference is to share experiences and lessons learnt so please use a non-commercial and impersonal tone and focus on what would be useful for others to know with regards to the application of Passivhaus concepts in the UK. Your text and presentation should address one of the suggested themes: domestic new build; non-domestic new build; domestic retrofit; non-domestic retrofit; planning and design consideration; policy; climate data; envelope standards and performance; ventilation; indoor air quality; air-tightness; PHPP; EnerPHIT; modelling and on-site measurement; post-occupancy evaluation.

1. Abstract

All authors must submit the TITLE OF PRESENTATION + 300 WORD SUMMARY as an email to info@passivhausconference.org.uk by 31st May 2012. The summary should include the theme, the type of building or system (if applicable) and a brief description of the main findings.

2. Extended Abstract

Selected authors will be notified by the end of June and then will be invited to submit a TWO PAGE EXTENDED ABSTRACT, using the template provided below (MS-Word document format), by email to info@passivhausconference.org.uk by 31st August 2012. We request that all speakers follow this template in order to enable the organisers to include it in the reference document that will be given to all attendees. The extended abstract should summarise the intent, methods, finding and conclusions of your presentation and be between 500 and 1000 words. It is important that a consistent writing style is used throughout. The text should be written in past tense impersonal.
