Last chance to book: Steel frame Passivhaus Masterclass
Join us for the final lecture in our Large & Complex Passivhaus Masterclass series which concludes on Wednesday 7 December 2022. The event will be the official launch of the Passivhaus Trust's technical position paper on steel frame in Passivhaus construction.
With the Passivhaus standard now being routinely applied in the UK to larger and more complex buildings, we are seeing the emergence of more steel frame elements, or entire steel frames, being designed for Passivhaus buildings. The design and certification of steel frame buildings can introduce additional complexity in calculating U-values, thermal bridging, and condensation risk. The Masterclass will explore these complexities as well as looking at the decision-making process leading to the specification of steel frame construction.
Topics covered in this 120-minute session include:
- An introduction to the Trust's new technical position paper on steel frame projects.
- Lessons learned and key knowledge emerging from the recently completed steel rigs at BE-ST.
- Key practical advice for contractors, drawing on the experience of delivering large Passivhaus projects in the UK
- Top tips for the successful Passivhaus certification for these challenging projects
