Wahroonga Passivhaus receives Certification

Wahroonga a private house in Ledbury, Herefordshire owned by Trust member Ruth Busbridge has recently received Passivhaus certification. The house was designed by Janet Cotterell (CT&T architects, London & Passivhaus Homes) and built by Mike Whitfield (Mike Whitfield Construction). Nick Grant and Alan Clarke were the Energy Consultants while Howard Meadowcroft and Mike Whitfield were consultants on the Construction Details with PHPP input from the owner Ruth Busbridge, herself a Passivhaus Designer and C.A.T sustainable architecture graduate.

Ruth Busbridge comments on the house, "The SE/SW orientation is not optimal and though it hasn't overheated since moving in in June it was quite warm in a cool summer so additional external shading may need to be considered. So far though it's warm, light, comfortable and beautiful!"
