Call for papers: abstracts for the 18th International Passive HouseConference in 2014. Central platform for energy efficient construction to be held in Aachen,Germany for the first time
The call for papers for the 2014 International Passive House Conference has been announced; the deadline for submitting abstracts is 1 October 2013. The most exciting projects and findings will be presented in Aachen on 25 and 26 April 2014.
The18th Passive House Conference will focus on non-residential buildings and EnerPHit refurbishments as well as new developments in the field of Passivhaus components and mechanical services. Detailed information and submission documents can be foundonline at www.passivehouseconference.org.
"Passivhaus is the basis for the energy revolution. As such, the conference in Aachen will enable participants to prepare for a sustainable building future", says Wolfgang Feist, director of the Passivhaus Institut. As of 2021, all new buildingsmust be built as "Nearly-Zero Energy Buildings" in accordance with the European Buildings Directive. Passivhaus offers a solution to meet these requirements today,having proven successful time and again for many years.The call for papers addresses all those who have expert knowledge in energy efficient construction and would like to present their experiences to an international audience.
Contributions will be selected by a scientific advisory board in late November. The 18th International Passive House Conference 2014 is organised by the Passivhaus Institut in cooperation with the energy agency of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia (EnergieAgentur.NRW) and the City of Aachen. For over 20 years, the Passivhaus has been synonymous with excellent quality, thermal comfort and sustainability. As a global platform for energy efficient construction, the Passive House Conference offers top-class plenary sessions, courses for newcomers, workshops for manufacturers, a separate forum for craftspeople, a specialist exhibition showcasing energy-efficient building products, and excursions to built projects.
The 2014 Passive House Conference and Exhibition, hosted by the City of Aachen, addresses designers and architects, manufacturers and contractors, scientists and other construction stakeholders alike.
