Canada's Passive House North 2013 Conference
The Canadian Passive House Institute (CanPHI) will host the first North American Passive House conference in Vancouver at the end of September this year with an emphasis on cost-effective strategies for reducing building energy in cool climates. Passive House North 2013 presentations will include topics such as affordability, cold climate challenges, large wood structures, multi-family housing, prefab construction, high-performance window design, heat recovery ventilation and airtightness testing.
Speakers include Wolfgang Feist, Tomas O’Leary of the Passive House Academy (Wicklow & NYC), and Tim McDonald of Onion Flats (Philadelphia) as well as Henry Gifford, (New York City) and Harold Orr, one of the creators of Canada’s landmark Saskatchewan Conservation House, Nabih Tahan, Peter Amerongen, and Mike Eliason.
Prior to the Conference, the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) will co-present an Introduction to Passive House Design and Construction 1-day course.
