Passivhaus Trust at the 15th International Passivhaus Conference, Innsbruck
Chris Herring, Nick Grant, Jon Bootland and Kirsten Priebe represented the Passivhaus Trust (PHT) at the 15th International Passivhaus held in Innsbruck on the 27th and 28th May 2011. Around 30 delegates attended the conference from the UK with a vast majority of them being PHT members.
Jon also attended the site visits organised by Advantage Austria which covered a range of Passivhaus housing and office projects in Innsbruck. Jon reports, “The visits in Innsbruck were very enlightening – achieving the Passivhaus standard seems to be fairly common here, with good examples of new homes, a new office and a residential tower block refurbishment.”
The Trust heard about lots of interesting projects across Europe during the conference; we’ll be presenting highlights about these at our First Anniversary event on 5th July.
The Trust also met with PHIUS, the American affiliate of the Passivhaus Institute, who are leading the development of Passivhaus through local chapters that are now spreading across the USA.
The next International conference will be in Hannover on 4th-5th May 2012 – we look forward to seeing you there.
