Third Passivhaus Trust Technical Panel Meeting

The Passivhaus Trust ran a Technical Panel Meeting on 21st June 2011, the third in the series of Technical meetings that will draw on the technical expertise of leading Passivhaus practitioners, designers and certifiers in the industry. The first one looked at Weather data and Carbon compliance, and the second one on Passivhaus and Zero carbon and Quality Assurance.

This meeting focussed on the Passivhaus Trust’s briefing paper on Passivhaus and Zero Carbon which will be published on 5th July at our First Anniversary event. The meeting also looked at the development of the Trust’s position on the route to Zero Carbon, possible lobbying activities, and how to deal with Quality assurance for non-certified buildings that are claiming to achieve Passivhaus. The Trust is also aiming to publish a briefing paper on ‘What is Passivhaus’ with regards to Passivhaus claims. Passivhaus Trust Directors Neil Cutland and Nick Grant gave presentations on each topic respectively which sparked a lively debate among the panel.

The next topics for the Trust’s Technical panel were identified as Creating an introductory guidance document aimed at clients, and Lobbying with Planners and Local Authorities. If you have an interest in either or both of these topics, please contact Melissa Taylor at Melissa@passivhaustrust.org.uk
