BRE to launch Passivhaus design competition

The BRE will be launching a Passivhaus design competition at the UK Passivhaus Conference in October.

The competition will be to design a pair of semi-detached homes to be constructed in the BRE Innovation Park. The homes must achieve Passivhaus certification and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.

The winning design will be constructed in 2012 and testing and evaluation will be carried out. This data will be made available at Insite 13, a conference to be held at the BRE on the future of low carbon and sustainable buildings.
