Call for Technical Topics
The Trust will be holding a ‘technical day’ on the afternoon of 15 October 2014, before the UK Passivhaus Conference in Stevenage.
The session is a chance for PHT members and practitioners involved in the more technical aspects of Passivhaus to delve into Passivhaus issues in more depth. The Trust is seeking suggestions for relevant and current topics from experts and industry professionals who would be interested in leading a workshop.
Our Technical Panel, held earlier this year highlighted some potential areas of discussion:
- MVHR – commissioning targets, occupant behaviour, Part F targets etc
- Heat supply – small scale systems, communal systems, integration of renewables
- Air-tightness – accuracy of test, tricky details, sequencing
- Procurement – contractor-led projects, partnering, contract clauses
- Near Passivhaus – the new standard
- Passivhaus in planning policy – conservation areas, planning vs Code
We will have space for up to 6 one-hour workshops on the day. The final topics put forward for the afternoon will be chosen by the UK Passivhaus Conference committee, but the final programme will depend on levels of interest and numbers of bookings!
If you are interested in leading a workshop, please let Richard@passivhaustrust.org.uk know which topic is of interest. Please also indicate:
- The purpose/ focus/ point of the workshop
- The questions that the group will attempt to answer
- The timing and format of the session (e.g. number and names of speakers)
NOTES: Any sessions proposed should be technical workshops, not a sales-oriented event. Proposed workshops should include significant opportunity for audience engagement i.e. maximum of 30 minutes presentations during the 1 hour session. If more than one person puts forward a topic, we will encourage collaboration among the potential participants.
