Patron Member Accredited Passivhaus Design are PHT member of the month! Peter Ranken, Certified Passivhaus Designer of Accredited Passivhaus Design (APD) recently spoke at the UK Passivhaus Conference 2014 about one of their current Passivhaus projects, a small house in Hackney in the shadows of taller Victorian villas. Currently on site, the house is still predicted to meet the Passivhaus standard, even though it only receives a little sunlight.
This is one of APD’s Passivhaus projects where they have provided consultancy services to another architect, but they also offer the full range of architectural and Passivhaus design services, including construction information, to clients and contractors.
They have many years' experience of working with clients from concept stage to completion to create comfortable and energy efficient buildings; and a reputation for providing effective and reliable construction information. This minimises surprises on site and can achieve the Passivhaus requirements for low air leakage and minimal thermal bridging.
Other current Passivhaus projects include single houses, 13 Passivhaus dwellings for Crawley Borough Council, a leisure facility extension and various other Housing Association and Extra Care projects.
