Austrian Passivhaus Embassies presented at 2015 UK Passivhaus Awards Ceremony

If the lure of 8 exemplar passivhaus projects competing to win, a special feature looking at previous winners performance, and a good ol'party celebrating the Trust's 5th anniversary is simply not enough... We have another reason for you to attend this year's award ceremony.

This years awards will be hosted by Advantage Austria at the Residence of the Austrian Embassy in London. Showcasing that they are clear advocates of adopting the Passivhaus Standard, there will be:

• Presentations and models of their completed Passivhaus embassy building in Jakarta, the first Passivhaus in Indonesia. In correspondence with Indonesia’s climate conditions, this is a representative example of how traditional techniques, local materials, and modern technology can be meaningfully implemented to ensure spatial quality, indoor climate comfort, and sustainability.

• Presentations and models of another planned Passivhaus Embassy building in Bangkok.

• A presentation about the low carbon retrofit of the venue in which the awards ceremony is being hosted, and the difficulties and challenges encountered at feasibility and design stage.

The winners of the UK Passivhaus Awards are decided by PHT members. Notes on voting:

• One vote per member organisation.
• Please do not vote online if you are attending the awards ceremony as you will not be able to vote again or change your online vote.
• Non-members are welcome to attend the ceremony but will not be permitted to vote.
