Passivhaus Trust Working Groups update
The topics for this year’s research are listed below:
- In-use Performance and Occupant Comfort
- Capital Costs and Whole Life Costing
- Quality Assurance
The Passivhaus Trust has started to organise the first two working groups with meetings either underway or about to start. This year we have decided to have all meetings via an online platform to save on the group member’s time and cost.
The Working Group research will be carried out by a number of experts that have been invited by the Trust to advise on detailed technical issues pertaining to the application and delivery of Passivhaus in the UK. Companies involved so far include: WARM: Low Energy Building Practice, Encraft, Aecom and E-Griffin.
We are also due to start the third Working Group later this year, whose role will be to identify Quality Assurance areas that need further research and guidance within Passivhaus developments in the UK.
The QA Working Group will work closely with the ‘Certification’ working group, which now includes a representative from PHI and has now formed part of the Trusts working group programme.
