Full house at Scotland Build Passivhaus talks

The Passivhaus Trust organised an afternoon of Passivhaus talks in conjunction with Scotland Build 2017 during their sustainability summit at the SEC, Glasgow on November 23rd. The session, chaired by Janice Foster from Mackintosh Environmental Architecture Research Unit (MEARU), was fully attended and concluded with an engaging panel discussion with the speakers Kirsty Maguire from Kirsty Maguire Architects, Chris Morgan from John Gilbert Architects and Jonathan Hines from Architype.

The main focus was the next phase of Passivhaus developments in Scotland, residential and non-domestic alike, and the hurdles yet to overcome, such as contractor training and cost issues, to increase further uptake of Passivhaus developments in Scotland’s particularly suitable climate.

A well attended drinks and networking gathering afterwards created a lively and positive vibe amongst PHT members, Passivhaus enthusiasts, academics and clients.

There's a chance for Passivhaus enthusiasts to meet up again at our PHT Scotland Christmas Catch Up which takes place on 11th December from 16:30 onwards in Edinburgh.

The Passivhaus Trust is already looking forward to our next event in Glasgow in spring 2018, as part of our Local Authority campaign - Passivhaus Social.

The event will target contractors and Local Authorities/ Housing Associations with a series of excellent talks by consultants, contractors and clients.
