About

2015 is a special year for the Trust as it is our 5th anniversary,  which will coincide with the UK Passivhaus Awards ceremony. The 2015 Awards aimed to celebrate the design and performance of Passivhaus in the UK, highlighting that Passivhaus can be used on any building type to create beautiful buildings that address health and well-being, energy efficiency and occupant comfort issues.

  1. Celebrate exceptional Passivhaus buildings that are beautifully designed.
  2. Recognise UK Passivhaus schemes that are being delivered at large scale.
  3. Demonstrate that Passivhaus can deliver successful retrofit solutions.

A regeneration of two dilapidated blocks of flats in one of the poorest parts of Manchester, with EnerPHit as a mechanism for creating a sustainable low carbon community.

A new build multi-use lab space with associated prep rooms. Buildings main aim is to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the University.

The winning project from each category was decided via a combination of:

  • online PHT member votes (open 22 June)
  • votes from the members of the audience at the Awards Ceremony after project presentations.
