Students embrace Passivhaus designs
Another academic year is ending, and we are delighted to see a plethora of student designs championing Passivhaus within their designs.
2021 Passivhaus Student Competition
The winning design, The Art Works, designed by Emily-Rose Garnett from Oxford Brookes, provides a sustainable community hub. The proposal seeks to achieve the Passivhaus Premium standard, enhance biodiversity with the surrounding landscaping, and apply circular economy principles.
Chole Berry’s Passivhaus exemplar house design is highly commended.
Icebox challenge Glasgow
The winning student design for the 2021 Icebox Challenge has been announced and is currently under construction. The installation will be on display this summer in the lead up to COP26 in Glasgow.
Riverside Sunderland University Design Challenge
The shortlist has been announced, and we are thrilled to see designs embrace a fabric first philosophy, with several adopting Passivhaus. It has been a pleasure to support a competition encouraging multi-disciplinary teams covering a wide range of climate literacy topics. Winners are to be decided & announced on Wednesday 30 June.
